Chevrolet recently announced that their new lineup of Class 4 and 5 medium-duty trucks will be branded with the Silverado name. These all-new Silverado 4500 and 5500 trucks will be available with 4×2 and 4×4 capability, a variety of wheelbases and in a choice of Regular or Crew Cab models.

Both new Silverado truck models will be powered by a Duramax diesel engine mated with Allison transmission. The will be offered with optional OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity provided by AT&T. This new in-vehicle connectivity is expected to be most popular with fleet management companies for improved safety and productivity.

They will be powerful, highly maneuverable and among the easiest trucks on the market to upfit with specialized bodies, such as dump bodies, rollbacks, freight boxes and more.”
