NEW TRAILERING CAMERA SYSTEM FOR CHEVY SILVERADO TRUCKS
Chevrolet has announced that a new trailering camera system will soon be available for Chevy Silverado HD and Silverado 1500 trucks. The system is compatible with 2014 – 2016 models equipped with either gooseneck or fifth-wheel towing hitches and available trailer-towing mirrors.
Partnering with Echomaster, Chevrolet has developed this new blind-spot assist towing package with two side view cameras and one rear view camera that provide a clear view of what surrounds the trailer. The two side view cameras are integrated into the housing of the side view mirrors. When the driver activates a turn signal, the system displays video of the correlating side view on the system monitor. The rear camera is hardwired to the lights at the top edge of the trailer to provide an unobstructed view of what is behind the trailer when reversing. Video images captured by the rear camera are wirelessly transmitted to the display monitor using a closed wireless network.
This new trailering camera system also features infrared lighting for the ability to see images and objects in low light settings. The system also can include a fourth camera, installed inside the trailer to keep an eye on horses or livestock during transport. “These are great examples of our commitment to provide truck customers with the most confident towing experience in the industry,” said Jeff Luke, Chevrolet truck executive chief engineer.
The new Chevrolet Silverado trailering camera systems will be available in the next few weeks at Chevy dealers across the nation. If you would like to learn more about this new trailering technology or any other new Chevy innovations please Contact our Chevrolet dealership near San Diego, CA.
