CHEVROLET ONSTAR PROACTIVE ALERTS – INDUSTRY FIRST FOR MAINTENANCE
New Chevy owners can now take advantage of Chevrolet’s OnStar Proactive Alerts. This industry’s first predictive technology enables the vehicle to warn drivers about potential maintenance issues before they occur. The OnStar Proactive Alert system continually monitors the condition of the vehicle’s starter motor, fuel pump and 12-volt battery. If any of these are not functioning properly OnStar notifies the driver to take their vehicle in for service.
This new predictive technology works by collecting a small batch of data each time the vehicle is started. The collective information is monitored on an ongoing basis and will quickly identify any disturbances or changes in a particular component. When the system identifies a potential maintenance issue a message is sent through the in-vehicle system or via email or text message.
Chevrolet OnStar Proactive Alerts are currently available on 2016 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Corvette and Equinox models. It is offered with all OnStar service plans including the OnStar Basic Plan that comes standard for five years on new Chevrolet vehicles. The service will be available for other Chevy models and will be able to monitor additional vehicle components in the future.
“Chevrolet is already the most awarded car brand in the industry,” said Steve Holland, chief technologist for Vehicle Health Management at General Motors. “With Proactive Alerts, we now can offer customers even greater peace-of-mind by taking the guesswork out of when to service their vehicle.”
The OnStar Proactive Alerts system is just one of many innovative technologies found on new Chevy cars, SUVs and trucks. If you would like to learn more about this new feature or if you have any questions about our new Chevrolet vehicles in San Diego County, please Contact Us
