2017 Chevrolet Trax vs. Equinox – Which is the Best Family Car For You?

If you are shopping for an efficient, affordable new vehicle to comfortably accommodate the needs of your family, consider the new Chevy Trax and Chevy Equinox. These two small SUVs are well equipped with convenient technology, safety features and are offered at prices that will not break your monthly budget.

2017 Chevy Trax:

New Chevrolet Trax is small enough for nimble handling and efficient city driving but spacious enough to offer flexible cargo room. With flat folding back and front passenger seats the Trax can transport just about any long, tall or wide item in an expanded cargo space of up to 60 cu. ft. With body dimensions slightly shorter than a compact sedan, this model can also fit into the tightest parking spots with ease.

Offered with a base MSRP of $21,000 and an EPA estimated 33 MPG highway, the Trax offers abundant economy but don’t let the price fool you. This new model is loaded with technology. The 2017 Chevrolet Trax is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible and is available with Chevy’s 4G LTW Wi-Fi for seamless connection for up to seven devices at once. Other convenient available technology on this model includes the myChevrolet feature that enables a mobile app for remote engine start, unlocking doors and sending destinations to the vehicle’s navigation system.

2017 Chevy Equinox:

With a starting MSRP of $23.100 the new Chevrolet Equinox is one of the most affordable small SUVs in its class. Like the new Chevy Trax the Equinox also delivers remarkable fuel economy with this model offering an EPA estimated 21/31 city/hwy mpg.

The Equinox is larger than the Trax and offers more luxury features. The exterior is wider and lower than the Trax and is embellished with chrome accents and sporty black trim. Interior features are similar to luxury models with perforated leather appointments, premium cloth seats and brushed metal surfaces.

Like the new Chevrolet Trax the Equinox also has folding back seat configurations that allow up to 63.7 cubic feet of cargo space. The Equinox also features a sliding rear seat that when fully extended allows for 39.9 inches of rear legroom. The Equinox is equipped with similar technology features to the Trax and is compatible with iPhone systems for hands-free interaction to read or compose text messages, play music or make calls.

Safety Features:

A full suite of Chevrolet safety features are standard or available options for both of these models. These include 10 standard airbags that surround and protect the driver and passengers in the event of a collision. Intuitive Forward Collision and Side Blind zone alerts as well as Lane Departure Warning, Rear Park Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alerts are just a few of the many safety features found on new Trax and Equinox models.

Weseloh Chevrolet has a wide selection of 2017 Chevy Trax and Equinox models in stock now. We invite you to come test drive one or both of these new models and discover which is the best family vehicle for you.
